Paper Airplane Party Tips

for Easy Paper Airplanes

Here are even more paper airplane party tips continued from our Paper Airplane Party Tips (page 2) to help make your birthday party for you child a complete success. Remember, these are only guidelines, and certainly are not meant to curb the natural creativity that you already possess.

continued from 6. Paper Airplane Party Things... (page2)...

For Decorations
Well, you guessed it! Make all kinds of different “mini” paper airplanes from all kinds of colored paper and attach them to streamers, or make a garland to go around the front door.

You can also attach fishing line to each large or small paper airplane and hang it with a thumb nail on your ceiling. It will look like lots of planes in the air waiting to land!

If you want to be really ambitious, find large boxes big enough for the kids to crawl in. Cut them up to look like a cockpit of a plane and let them take turns playing “pilot”.

For Favors
Give each child a print out of one or two of the airplane folds in the ebook along with cool colored or white paper and a small box of crayons – so they can go home and make their own paper airplanes.

The favors can go in plain brown lunch bags that you and your child can decorate together before the party. You can have each child choose one of the mini paper airplane decorations to take home with him as he is leaving.

If you have balloons, give one to each child as a favor. This is a great way to get some of the clean up for the party done!

7. Time Limits for the Party
Having a time limit for the party specified on the invitation will help you keep the party under control and let other parents know what to expect. Usually, children’s parties should last be-tween 2 and 4 hours. Anything more than that will leave the children either bored or over tired.

8. Structure
A great and successful party is not “oh, whatever happens – happens...” kind of a thing. It needs to be well thought out, structured and orchestrated so that everyone is engaged throughout the party.

A good party should consist of four parts:
a) Welcoming,
b) Games & Activities,
c) Refreshments, and
d) Closing

Some Final Tips...
Remember, this is just a guideline for you. Perhaps it’ll be a catalyst for you to come up with your own ideas to use paper airplanes as a theme. That’s great! Keep in mind that, once the party is underway, you don’t need to get too caught up in the schedule you’ve created for the party.

Try to keep the kids on track and gently guide them from one activity to another. Go with how the air currents flow... It’s okay to skip some of your planned activities or repeat others if the mood of the group dictates that. Your party plan is a guide, definitely not a rule book. Remember when you’re with a group of kids, flexibility is the key.

Also, don’t forget to always have your helpers monitor the children to make sure they are playing safely. The last thing you need is for someone to get hurt at your party. If you can, clear out a lot of room for the party ahead of time. This helps make for a safer, happier, easier party – particularly important with younger children.

Enjoy your paper airplane party!
